Stephen F. Coteus

Steve joined the firm in September 2016 after a year clerking for the Honorable Peter Hall of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Prior to his clerkship with Judge Hall, Steve clerked for the Honorable Marilyn Skoglund, Associate Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court. Steve’s practice encompasses both transactional and civil litigation matters, including land use, contract, real estate, municipal, probate, and general civil litigation.

During law school, Steve spent a semester externing with Judge Hall. He also worked as a summer law clerk at the Law Office of Fred V. Peet in South Burlington, and at Conservation Law Foundation, in its New Hampshire office.

Personal Interest
Steve plays soccer in leagues and tournaments around the state and competes in Spartan races. He is formerly the DJ of an indie music program on Royalton Community Radio, and served on its board. Steve enjoys reading and writing poetry and is a member of the Poetry Society of Vermont.
